New reports suggest that Apple is gearing up to release the 2016 edition of the Macbook Pro in March, exactly a year after its predecessor officially came out.
As a next generation laptop, the Cupertino-based tech giant will reportedly equip the next version of the Macbook Pro with high-end features, Venture Capital Post reported.
Like its predecessor, the Macbook Pro 2016 is expected to come in 13-inch and 15-inch display variants.
According to rumors, the premium variant of the upcoming device will sport a 15-inch screen. It will reportedly be powered by Intel's Intel Core i7 processor and will pack 8GB of RAM with an impressive 516GB of internal storage, Morning News USA has learned.
The standard version, on the other hand, will feature a 13-inch display and 4GB of RAM. It is expected to pack 128GB of native memory.
The middle version, or the one between the standard and premium models, will also have 4GB of RAM. But, it will have a bigger internal storage than the standard variant at 256GB. It is not yet clear if this version will sport a 13 or 15-inch display.
Rumors also suggest the Macbook Pro 2016 will only have two ports: one for the headphone jack while the other is a USB Type-C. In addition, the upcoming laptop might also arrive in various iPhone-themed colors such as silver, gold and space grey.
Its predecessor, the Macbook Pro 2015, came with retina display and Force Touch features, a technology developed by Apple that allows devices to recognize multiple touch-based gestures.
For the next version of the laptop, the company might equip the Macbook Pro 2016 with the same features or even slightly updated ones.
Since Apple seems to release its new laptop models in March, like what it did with the Macbook Air and Macbook Pro 2015, the company could do the same for the MacbookPro 2016. This means the public can expect to see the new version of the device during the same month next year.
As to how much it might cost, there are no reports yet regarding the actual price of the Macbook Pro 2016. But, just to give users an idea, Apple debuted the standard version of the 2015 model with a price of $1,500, according to Bidness ETC.
