PS4 Sells More Than Xbox? Limited Edition ‘Destiny: The Taken King’ Bundle Pre-Orders Launched

PS4 is apparently selling more units than Xbox consoles. Sony reported an additional 3 million PlayStation 4 sales, more than double of combined 1.4 million sales of Xbox One and 360, during its first financial quarter of the year, Forbes reported.

For the quarter ending in June 30, the total sales of the video game console increased to 25.3 million. Microsoft, on the other hand, saw a 27 percent increase from its sales compared to the same period last year, but this is not quite enough to compete with Sony's PS4.

PlayStation 2 was a craze when it was launched in the market, but it took them nearly three years to hit the 20 million sales. The PS4 surpassed that in less than two.

Comparing the introductory price with PS3, PS4 is cheaper — $399 versus $499 — and according to Wired, even the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Shuheu Yoshida said that they couldn't understand what was happening when it came to the hardware sales.

Another factor why consumers would pick one console over the other was the exclusive content. The same publication stated that Xbox One has more exclusive games, but consumers seem to prefer PS4.

Talking about games — PlayStation announced on Thursday that the Limited Edition "Destiny: The Taken King" PS4 Bundle can already be pre-ordered. The PS4 game bundle is available at $399.99.

The bundle includes an actual, physical copy of "Destiny: The Taken King Legendary Edition," the white Destiny-inspired 500GB Limited Edition PS4 System and contents from the Legendary Edition and Digital Collector's Edition, as per PlayStation Blog.

This game, "Taken King Legendary Edition," includes The "Taken King," "Destiny, Expansion I: The Dark Below" and "Expansion II: House of Wolves."

The Digital Collector's Edition, on the other hand, includes Three Class Specific Emotes, Three Armor Shaders and three exotic Guardian class items with XP Bonuses.

Information on the game's site stated that it will also be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms.
