The Josh Trank helmed "Fantastic Four" reboot has yet to be released, but a sequel is already in the works for 2017. As early as now, the cast members are already thinking ahead of how the story would unfold and who would be the characters involved in the sequel.
Comic Book reported that the cast of "Fantastic Four" shared their thoughts about the upcoming sequel.
Jaime Bell, who plays Ben Grimm, dished his vision for the "Fantastic Four" sequel. He said, "I'd like to see more of how the characters interact with each other famously from the comic. It would be appealing to me. This one very much is to get them to that point, to take them from people you don't know, to transition into characters you can recognize. The job of the next film is taking it further and having the characters already established, seeing them interact in the very famous kind of way."
Bell then shared which villain he would like to see in the sequel. The actor said, "You can't get away from Silver Surfer. I know chronologically speaking that was the next villain in the previous franchise but I think Silver Surfer is cool looking."
In the 2007 movie "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," moviegoers had already seen the figure on board a silver surfboard. Doug Jones starred as the Silver Surfer in the movie that did not impress much of the moviegoers.
If you were wondering why the sequel to "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" seemed to be thrown out of the window, Entertainment Weekly sorted out the details as to the superhero flick that was hardly remembered by many.
The positive side of "Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer" was the Silver Surfer, who despite the wacky surfboard and the appalling CGI work looked pretty awesome. Silver Surfer was an alien being forced to perform the filthy work of a planet eating monster from space.
The negative side to "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" was the pathetic CGI, from the shiny body of Silver Surfer to the horrible stretch animations of Mr. Fantastic.
Interestingly, the Silver Surfer may still have a chance of showing up in the sequel of the rebooted "Fantastic Four" if the 2015 movie will do well in the big screen.
A report from The Guardian detailed that things were not looking good for the Josh Trank helmed "Fantastic Four" reboot. Gloomy events have shrouded the Marvel movie like angry fans, reshoots and the "erratic" behavior of the director.
So far, the trailer looked much better than that of its predecessor. Maybe there's hope for the Silver Surfer after all.
