"Fantastic Four" actress Jessica Alba could be contemplating on going invisible now after customers of her Honest Company slammed the actress' business over ineffective products.
Apparently, users of Alba's products didn't find her SPF 30 sunscreen effective after many of them experienced the heat of the sun penetrating their skin despite applying the supposed-to-be sun-protecting lotion, according to News.com.au.
Many were upset of the product which claimed to be a sunscreen for "broad spectrum" protection. They noted that reapplication of the lotion didn't spare their skin from getting burned.
To make matters worse for Jessica Alba, the furious consumers took to social media to slam the Honest Company's sunscreen by sharing photos of their sunburns and alarmingly red, burnt skin. One even wrote that his skin "got fried."
The angry customers didn't stop there. They also took to Amazon to voice out negative reviews about the product.
Orlando Sentinel has learned that the customers didn't only give the product one star, they also pointed out that the sunscreen was nowhere near from feeling natural since it has a greasy texture that leaves a form of hard-to-remove residue on the skin
One consumer review read: "I've tried dozens of different sunscreens and words can't come close to describing how terrible this product compares even to the cheapest stuff you find at discount stores."
Surprisingly, the Honest.com page was not flooded with angry reviews. In fact, the reviews on the sunscreen on the page were very positive.
It's not clear why the page does not have negative comments from consumers, but as per NBC Chicago, complaints about Jessica Alba's sunscreen poured in since April.
Through an investigation carried out by NBC5, it was found that the reason why the Honest Company's sunscreen was not effective was because the zinc oxide levels present were reduced by the company to 9.3 percent when the standard is between 18 and 25 percent, as per Fortune.
In light of this issue, the Honest Company released a statement which read: "The Honest Company has been transparent about the amount of zinc since the new formula came out in early 2015 as seen on the website and the new formula's packaging.
