Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were the latest celebs added to the list of couples who filed for divorce in Hollywood following the wake of actors Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner as well as country singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.
As per News.com.au, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have been married for 13 long years before deciding to get a divorce. The two musicians have three children — sons Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and 17-month-old Apollo.
The ex-couple released a joint statement: "While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment."
In a report from TMZ, Gwen Stefani who sought joint custody of their kids, did not enter into a pre-nuptial agreement before her marriage to Gavin Rossdale in 2002.
In effect, it would cost the 45-year-old lead singer of No Doubt a fair sum for her divorce since her net worth is around $80 million. Soon to be ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, was valued around $30 million.
The most crucial part in their divorce proceedings would be the distribution of their combined assets. As per Stuff, under California legislation, a 50/50 distribution of properties will apply if the couple did not have a pre-nuptial agreement.
Gwen Stefani met Gavin Rossdale when their bands No Doubt and Bush went on tour together in 1995. Before their marriage in 2002, the couple has been dating for six years, as per People.
Earlier this year, Gwen Stefani's statement to Cosmopolitan did not reveal a hint of an impending divorce.
The "Hollaback Girl" hitmaker said, "We go through so much together — it's a miracle that we could stay together this long."
"It's good to have those days when we both do our own things. I think that's what keeps relationships going, when both people can be themselves and have their own individuality."
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were supposed to celebrate their wedding anniversary next month.
