Aaron Hernandez is once again walking on thin ice after a tipster has come out to reveal shocking details about the former Patriots tight end and the jury that handled Hernandez's high-profile murder case.
A Massachusetts prosecutor revealed, Monday, that a mysterious tipster had come out to question the veracity of the justice system handling Hernandez's much talked about murder trial by pointing out that one juror was being untruthful amid the trial, CBS News reported.
The tipster even went as far as claiming that the unnamed juror "had been present for a discussion about a Boston double murder case that Hernandez is also charged in."
The anonymous tipster was believed to be a woman who is said to be in a "sexually explicit relationship" with Aaron Hernandez. Prosecutors called the tipster "Katy" and they believe that she may have sent a couple of very explicit letters to Hernandez prior to and during the trial over the murder of Odin Lloyd.
Katy is said to have been ringing the defense lawyers of the case a couple of times now, and the legal team has now decided to trace the calls, as per Deadspin.
Prosecutors said that the words of the tipster are very questionable, adding that Katy may have concocted the story about the juror just to secure Aaron Hernandez a new trial.
The legal team sees this gesture as Katy's attempt to prove Hernandez's innocence on the case, so that she and the former NFL player may continue their romance once Aaron is freed from prison.
It was found out through court documents that the tipster's father also served jail time with Hernandez, but it isn't clear yet if the man had asked his daughter to come out and relay the "implausible" allegation to the legal team.
Hernandez's lawyer James Sultan is now intrigued by the real motive of the tipster, so he wants to question Katy under oath, ProFootballTalk has learned.
In April, Aaron Hernandez was convicted in the Odin Lloyd 2013 murder case.
Meanwhile, some are wondering whether Katy the tipster could be Hernandez's fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins. After all, Jenkins was spotted sporting the engagement ring Hernandez gave her during the trial over Lloyd's murder.
Aaron Hernandez is now facing life in prison without the possibility of being granted parole, according to ESPN.
