Mariah Carey has another thing to celebrate after receiving her star on Hollywood's famous Walk of Fame. Apparently, the "Hero" hitmaker has been confirmed to make an appearance on Lee Daniels' "Empire" Season 2.
This week, amid speculations that Nick Cannon's ex-wife and boyfriend James Packer are already close to entering engagement phase of their relationship came Lee Daniels' confirmation about the diva's appearance on Fox's hit TV show "Empire."
On Monday, Carey was spotted looking happy in Beverly Hills. A TMZ cameraman approached her and asked if she's "excited" about the engagement. The "Butterfly" songstress simply responded: "What are you talking about?" while flashing a smile.
According to Hollywood Take, it shouldn't come as a surprise if Carey and boyfriend James Packer are getting engaged soon since the couple have been talking about marriage despite being in a relationship for only two months now.
Of course, Mariah Carey, who has an estimated net worth of $520 million as per Celebrity Net Worth, has one big reason to be happy — Packer is a very wealthy man who is valued at $4.6 billion.
The relatively new romance between the two has been very extravagant and lavish from the very beginning. Carey and Packer even reportedly rented a Malibu beach house for $10,000 a night just recently.
Meanwhile, amid her intense romance with Packer, Carey is set to go busy once again when she starts filming for Fox's "Empire" Season 2.
On Wednesday, Daniels confirmed the rumors and speculations that Carey is appearing on the hit series during the ceremony for the Hollywood Walk of Fame star of Nick Cannon's ex, as per E! News.
This wouldn't be the first time Carey and Daniels are working together. In 2009, Mariah appeared in "Precious" and in 2013, she also appeared in "Lee Daniels' The Butler," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
As for TV appearances, this is also not the first for Carey, who has graced the small screen a couple of times during her appearances on "Real Husbands of Hollywood," "Ally McBeal" and "American Dad."
The big question that's playing on everyone's mind now is: What is Mariah Carey's role in the series? No clues yet about her character, but Entertain This! reported that Taraji P. Henson's Cookie should start plotting her next move once the diva gets involved in the "Empire" family.
