A leaked internal memo has revealed the exact date when Apple's next iPhone model will hit stores this year.
According to Mobile News, the smartphone, which could be the iPhone 7, might be released through Vodafone on Sept. 25.
The site's report is based on an internal memo sent to staff members of the London-based telecomm company. The email detailed the schedule of the device's launch and also indicated that the company will start accepting pre-orders for the device on Sept. 18.
The memo, however, did not exactly mention which iPhone model will come out next month. But since rumors about the iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 are rampant, various sources speculated that the upcoming device could either be one of these two.
However, it is not yet clear if these are actually two different devices. As noted by Telegraph, Apple's next device may actually still be from the iPhone 6's family since the rumored iPhone 6S and its Plus variant will also reportedly sport the same display sizes which are at 4.7 and 5.5 inches, respectively.
But, the Cupertino-based tech giant could debut a next-generation device in the form of the iPhone 7.
Despite the varying names, the upcoming device is expected to come with a new feature dubbed as Force Touch, which was already introduced in the Apple Watch.
As reported by iDigitalTimes, Apple has already increased the production of parts for its upcoming iPhone handset since July. An insider who claims to be familiar with the company's manufacturing procedures said that the mass production included the module that will be used for Force Touch technology.
Apple is reportedly trying to reach 230 million units of the smartphone this year in preparation for its launch in September.
As for the other features of the iPhone 7, a recent rumor suggests that it might come with a new type of flash memory. According to BGR, Toshiba and SanDisk, the firms that supplied the storage mediums for the iPhone 6, were able to create the first 256GB 48-layer But Cost Scalling 3D flash memory.
This is considered as the fastest and most energy-efficient flash module and can provide a huge memory capacity for devices.
Although the press release from Toshiba indicated that the new flash memory will be used on mobile devices, it did not mention if it will come with the iPhone 7.
But, given the company's professional history with Apple, the next iPhone model could pack this new flash module.
