Good news to all "Bones" fans! FOX network is finally bringing back the crime procedural comedy-drama television series this October. While the crime drama picks up the events six months after the season 10 finale, FOX hinted some interesting details about the show's 11th season.
While it was previously reported in January that "Bones" Season 11 might be the show's last hoorah, it is still unclear if the show will end after the eleventh season. For now, we have some exciting scoops about Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and the whole Jeffersonian team.
Since there are still many details under wraps when it comes to "Bones" Season 11, here are 5 exciting deets we knew so far about the upcoming comeback of the series this October.
1. Possible crossover between "Bones" and "Sleepy Hollow" will be happening soon.
FOX's genre-busting series "Bones" and "Sleppy Hollow" will have a crossover soon. According to Entertainment Weekly, the much-anticipated crossover is headed toward production and back-to-back episodes will air on Oct. 29, as the network's Halloween offering. Though the storyline has not yet been revealed, what is definitely sure is Ichabod Crane and Seeley Booth's realms are going to collide for two hours.
2. There is going to be a "reunion of sorts" in the upcoming season.
Season 10 finale of the FOX's long-running series ended with Booth and Brennan saying goodbye to the team as they prepared for a fresh start elsewhere. International Business Times revealed that former executive producer Stephen Nathan initially clued about a possible reunion in the show.
"The mystery and the fun of Season 11 is how is this team going to reassemble," Nathan told The Hollywood Reporter. "How is life going to go on? At what point do we pick them up?"
3. Brennan and Booth are returning to the Jeffersonian for "Bones" Season 11.
After the couple left their jobs and moved to a new town to start their life together as a family, a mysterious and intriguing murder case forces them to return to their old lives. As per Venture Capital Post, the duo will return to the Jeffersonian team in order to solve the case.
"Picking up six months after the Season 10 finale, Brennan and Booth have moved on to a new town and new jobs, having given up their old life and settled into a blissful death-free existence," "Bones" Season 11 official synopsis reads. "But a murder unlike any other draws them back to investigate with their former colleagues at the Jeffersonian and FBI."
4. A "24" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress will guest star on the upcoming season of the show.
"24" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress Kim Raver will be joining the cast of "Bones" Season 11 as a guest star. She will be playing the role of Special Agent Grace Miller, who will be involved in the investigation surrounding Booth's disappearance in the first two episodes of the show's upcoming season, The Wrap noted.
5. Hodgin's (TJ Thyne) brother Jeffrey (Jonno Roberts) will return to the show this October.
Jeffrey, who was first introduced in season 9 when Hodgins accidentally discovered that he has a brother that was confined by their parents at an institution because of schizophrenia, will make a comeback in "Bones" Season 11. Christian Today reported the character was supposed to return last season. But due to prior commitments, Roberts was not able to.
