Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is not happy about the June jobs report. In response to the disappointing stats, he knocked President Barack Obama during a speech in Wolfeboro, N.H. and said that the "kick in the gut has got to end."
"American families are struggling," Romney said. "There is a lot of misery in America today."
Labor Department reports revealed that U.S. employers added only 80,000 jobs last month, adding on to the two months prior that also seen weak hiring. The unemployment rate remained the same at a still 8.2 percent.
Romney bashed Obama saying he had no economic plan and was only putting a damper on job creation by applying over-regulations and high corporate tax rates. Romney stated, "The president's policies have clearly not been successful...in reigniting this economy and putting people back to work and opening up manufacturing plants across the country."
Romney went on to speak of Obama "failing to effectively crack down on China" and thus putting American workers in jeopardy.
"It doesn't have to be this way," Romney reassured the audience. "The president doesn't have a plan and hasn't produced any new ideas."
Romney said that if placed in office he would put his efforts into energy, trade with Latin America, cut corporate tax rates, and would stand strong against China.
He added, "If I'm president of the United States, I'm going to work very hard to make sure we have good jobs for all Americans who want good jobs, and as part of a good job the capacity to take a vacation every now and then with your loved ones."
Interestingly enough, Romney's record in government contradicts his claims to be capable of creating new jobs. During his term as Massachusetts governor he was not able to get the state out of its debt and the state faced massive job losses opposed to gains. During that time, he said he was not to be held responsible for lost jobs and instead blamed it on factors of the economy he claimed he had no control over.
