Nicole Wallace Ditching ‘The View’ For MSNBC, Says Hosting Gig ‘Was Never Mine’

Nicole Wallace does not want to stay in a job that has demoted her from what she actually signed up for. That's why when "The View" producers offered her to be one of the contributors of the show after one season of being a panelist, she turned it down, announced her exit and signed on for a crucial role at MSNBC, Daily Mail has learned.

The 43-year-old former White House communications director formally announced her exit from ABC's daytime talk show on Thursday which was also the final live episode of the show this season.

"I love you guys, and you know, I never thought I would get this job in a million years," she said. "I was more surprised to get it than I would have been to not get it. But I have loved being a part of this table, I have loved sitting in this chair, and it was never mine, but I'm lucky I got to occupy it for a little bit."

Perez also had some words for "That's So Raven" star and new panelist Raven-Symone during her farewell speech. She told the former Disney Channel star that she loves her to death and that she should "keep talking about politics, don't let anybody tell you that people don't want to hear it."

Prior to saying her goodbyes, co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who has been pretty close with Wallace, expressed her disappointment over her lack of knowledge on eal reason why her friend was leaving.

"My friend Nicolle is leaving our show. You have to ask ABC why. I can't tell you; I don't know," Goldberg was quoted as saying by The Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, Wallace isn't the only co-host exiting "The View." The daytime talk show seems to be cursed with panelists coming and going almost every season.

Rosie Perez, who was not present during Wallace's farewell show, already filmed her final appearance and the pre-taped episode is set to air next week.

Amid Wallace's and Perez's departure, Michelle Collins has joined the show. Co-host Rosie O'Donnell returned this season but left in February. People reported that Sherri Shepherd may re-join the talk show and guest panelists for next season include Stacy London and Candace Cameron-Bure, who is also busy filming the "Full House" reboot.
