Patrick Kane RAPE Case: Chicago Blackhawks Star Accused Of Sexual Assault, Subject Of Investigation

Patrick Kane is being accused of rape by a Hamburg, N.Y., woman who went to the hospital over the last weekend to get tested using a rape kit. Authorities cannot confirm though if the Chicago Blackhawks star was indeed the man being subjected to a sexual assault investigation.

According to CBC Sports, a local woman accused Patrick Kane of sexual assault. However, the 26-year-old NHL player was not charged with a crime as of late.

Local media reported that there's an ongoing investigation regarding the sexual assault, but police declined to confirm the investigation involving Kane.

"I can't even confirm that there is an incident. We're not confirming or denying that there is an investigation with Mr. Kane," said Hamburg Police Chief Gregory G. Wickett.

However, Kane's neighbours told reporters that the authorities paid a visit to Patrick's lakefront property Sunday night.

Amid the investigation, the Chicago Blackhawks released a statement via USA Today Sports which read: "We are aware of the matter and are in the process of gathering information. It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."

The NHL team was reportedly unaware of the rape accusation until Wednesday and they have since tried to contact Kane but to no avail.

As of late, specific details on where and when the sexual assault occurred remain scarce.

This is not the first time that Kane would have a run-in with law if ever the rape accusation was proven true. In 2009, he was arrested for assaulting a Buffalo cab driver, as per CBS Chicago. At the time, he pleaded guilty over the assault charges.

Patrick Kane is well known for being Chicago's first overall pick in the 2007 NHL draft. Just this June, he lead his team to their third Stanley Cup championship.

The story of Patrick Kane's alleged sexual assault case is still developing. Stay tuned for more details.
