Are you guys itching for some "Suicide Squad" updates?
Slash Film has revealed that the role of Amanda Waller as the head of a covert government operation tasked to create the Suicide Squad was offered to "How to Get Away With Murder" star Viola Davis, despite her hectic schedule.
Davis was approached Tuesday after the panel on Disney/ABC Summer TCA Tour, and was asked about her thoughts about the movie offer. "They were totally willing to work it out," said Davis. "I'd never seen anything like it. Paul Lee came up to me and said, 'Oh, I want you to have everything.' Who does that? I was very lucky."
The Oscar nominated actress said ABC really wanted her to be go onboard the movie despite the difficulties in her busy schedule.
When asked if she just came onboard because it's a David Ayer movie and regardless of the superhero characters, Davis said, "I mean, you saw the trailer so the trailer very much, what you see is these superheroes have been humanized. That's what makes this kind of a different superhero movie."
Meanwhile, great news for "Suicide Squad" fans, according to Zefr, a marketing firm which keeps track of the figures, the all-star gathering of DC supervillains from Warner Bros lead by Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Karen Fukuhara as Katana, as per IMDb, got the top spot in the most watched movie trailer on Aug. 3.
The Hollywood Reporter disclosed that "Suicide Squad" which will open in less than a year from now, on Aug. 5, 2016 to be exact, and the trailer got 5.5 million views in the Internet for a collective total of 66.7 million views.
Meanwhile, reports from Comicbookmovie.com revealed that Jared Leto was snapped by the paparazzi, still with his signature 'Joker' green hair walking the streets of New York. What caught the attention of the photographers was his phone's wallpaper, which was the cover of Tony Daniel's "Detective Comics Vol. 2 #1." This issue marked the debut of The Joker in DC's "New 52" and was also scandalous for creating a story arc that depicted Batman's iconic villain slicing his own face off.
Well, maybe "Suicide Squad" actor Jared Leto is such a fan or just getting inspiration for his character. What do you think?
