The snap of Bobbi Kristina Brown lying in a coma at the hospice facility where she stayed prior to her death has already started its circulation after the National Enquirer printed it on the cover of its Aug. 17 issue.
Following the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, news broke that a photo of her in a coma was taken days before her passing. According to Metro, the snap was even sold for a hefty sum to a tabloid, which at the time was not named.
However, ahead of the release of National Enquirer's upcoming issue, the front cover landed online, causing a huge stir among fans and refueling the tension between the Houstons and the Browns.
The front cover apparently features the image of an unconscious Bobbi Kristina clothed in a hospital gown. What's even more shocking is the fact that the National Enquirer also featured an image of the late Whitney Houston in her casket beneath Krissi's snap. Whitney's photo is said to be a reprint of the image the same publication circulated in 2012. Check out the cover photo here.
As if these weren't enough, the embattled publication promises that the cover story on Bobbi Kristina Brown's death will showcase more images and "haunting details."
It isn't clear if the National Enquirer was also the one responsible for the death photo of Bobbi Kristina Brown which was taken during her funeral. The pic was reportedly captured despite strict security measures at the viewing and was even sold for $100,000 for a still unidentified publication.
A FOX411 source said the Houstons and Browns are "livid" about the existence of the photo, adding, "They are indeed exploring legal action if only to find out who did it."
Julian Chan, an entertainment lawyer, sees this photo as a total violation of Bobbi Kristina's family's privacy.
"The family can sue for invasion of privacy, as well as for trespass for entering the room to take the picture," Chan said. "They can also sue for intentional infliction of emotional distress, since — as you can imagine — a picture like that especially in a printed magazine [would cause distress]."
Prior to the passing of Bobby Brown's daughter, tensions between the Browns and the Houstons were already there. And now that the deathbed snap of Krissi is in full circulation, the misunderstanding between the two sides has reportedly escalated, Stuff.co.nz reported.
"Our sources say members of the Brown and Houston families are blaming each other for the pic, which was snapped despite all the precautionary measures," an insider was quoted by the news site.
