Jake Owen and wife Lacey Buchanan are the latest husband and wife to announce that they are divorcing this summer. The country music star officially confirmed the split via Twitter, weeks after Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their breakup.
According to USA Today, Owen and Buchanan have decided to go separate ways after spending three years together as a married couple.
In the official divorce statement Owen shared on Twitter, it was revealed that the now exes want to focus on their daughter Olive Pearl Owen as they move on with their lives.
They are also asking for everyone to respect their "privacy" during this trying time in their lives.
"I want to let my fans know how much I've appreciated their support of not only my career but my family as a whole," the divorce statement read.
It then continued with: "Sadly, Lacey and I have decided to end our marriage. We want to focus on our daughter Pearl and make sure she has a beautiful life with loving parents. We appreciate you respecting our privacy during this time."
In the same Twitter post, Jake Owen admitted that the decision to divorce from Buchanan was a very difficult one, as per E! News.
"This is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. We appreciate your support and privacy in this matter," he tweeted.

The 33-year-old Country music heartthrob and his now 25-year-old ex-wife tied the knot in May 2012 in Very Beach, Fla., the hometown of the "What We Ain't Got" hitmaker.
The wedding was really special since Owen popped the question a month before the ceremony during his concert in his hometown.
In July, Owen already hinted about their marital woes during an interview with "America's Morning Show," People reported.
"I didn't think this was anyone's business other than mine and my wife's - but for the last few months, we've really been having a hard time, struggling with communication and literally talking about divorce," he said at the time.
Meanwhile, another celebrity couple in the music scene, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, announced in July that they are divorcing amid cheating rumors.
