Since the announcement of "American Horror Story: Hotel" and the confirmation that the "Born This Way" hitmaker is going to lead the all-new season, Lady Gaga's character has been shrouded in mystery. Fortunately this week, show creator Ryan Murphy finally revealed the juicy bits about Gaga's role on the show.
FX's "Hotel" is set to open and welcome viewers this fall, and what a way to treat rabid fans of the horror anthology than to finally introduce and reveal the characters the actors of the show are playing.
Speaking of this season's queen bee, Lady Gaga, Ryan Murphy said that her character is a rich and fashionable doyenne named Elizabeth, TV Guide has learned.
The "Glee" master creator also confirmed that Gaga is set to start filming her scenes on Monday and that her character's "nefarious plan" will be revealed right away in the pilot episode.
Since Taylor Kinney's girlfriend is already a fashionable songstress, it's safe to say that she can pull off any type of ensemble the "AHS" cast and crew are going to offer her. For the most part though, fans are excited to see Lady Gaga's acting on the small screen.
Having starred in "Machete Kills" and "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," Gaga already has what it takes to portray and evil character. But since "American Horror Story" always demands a different kind of acting from its actors, it will be a delight to see Gaga doing justice to what Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk have assigned to her.
Other stars of the show include Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, Richard T. Jones, Denis O'Hare, Emmar Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Darren Criss, Lily Rabe, Madchen Amick and Max Greenfield, as per Billboard.
So far the only known characters in "Hotel" are Paulson's Hypdermic Sally, O'Hare's Elizabeth Taylor, Bates' Iris, Bassett's Ramona Royale, Sevigny's Alex Lowe and Bentley's John Lowe, Wittrock's Tristan Duffy, Jackson's Drake and Bomer's Donovan.
Murphy teased that Gaga's role is quite remarkable since she will share romantic storylines with the characters of Bassett, Jackson and Bomer.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell also has special participation in the show, but Murphy is tight-lipped about her role in Gaga's Elizabeth's life.
Below is a list of the confirmed characters as per the words of the actors playing them, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly:
Bassett: "I play Ramona Royale, and I'm sexy as well, yet not in a drug addicty kind of way. And I have a very strong real lasting relationship with [Lady Gaga's] character. And my character is also this fabulous actress. I don't live at the hotel, but I vist there a lot."
Bates: "I play Iris. I run the hotel. I have relationships with Matt Bomer and with Wes, and I can't stand [Sarah Paulson], I hate you. And I don't know yet if I get to work with Angela, I hope I do. And Liz Taylor and I have a very close relationship, and I do crossword puzzles in my spare time."
Bentley: "I play Detective John Lowell, I'm married to Chloe's character. We had a great loss in the family. Investigating some grisly murders, which somehow leads me to checking into the hotel."
Bomer: "I play Donovan, who is closely associated with Ms. Gaga and Ms. Bates, and Mr. Wittrock, amongst others. And he has very interesting relationships with the lady folk in his life."
Jackson: "Will Drake, fashion icon. He's trying to creatively reestablish himself, so he moves from New York to Los Angeles. A father, and a little desperate."
O'Hare: "I'm playing Liz Taylor, movie icon. I'm not actually playing Elizabeth Taylor, but I'm playing a person who is inspired by the awesomeness of things like Butterfield 8 and Cleopatra and eye makeup like that. And I shaved my head for the part and other body parts. I work in the hotel, I work with Kathy, and I work in the bar."
Paulson: "My character this year is quite dark. I think she's sexy. She's a drug addict, and not that drug addicts are sexy, but this girl happens to be quite sexy. She's got a thing. I don't think it's like anything I've done on this show ... I play Sally, I live at the hotel. I hate Iris in a rather ancient way for reasons that are revealed quickly. I have kind of budding something with Wes's character. It's sort of dark and, sorry, you don't know this yet."
Sevigny: "I play Alex, and I'm the wife of Wes Bentley, and a mother and a doctor and dealing with a great loss that we had in our family and coming to grips with that, among other things."
Wittrock: "I'm playing a male model named Tristan Duffy who's always looking for the next high. And I think he sort of finds his biggest high in Lady Gaga, and they have a lot to do together. She sees all of me."
"American Horror Story: Hotel" is hitting small screens on Oct. 7, Wednesday, on FX.
