Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are both hurting ever since they publicly confirmed that they are divorcing. Despite the emotional rollercoaster they are having lately, the exes continue to live their lives and even perform at gigs and do interviews every now and then. Interestingly, it appears that they are communicating through their public appearances.
On Friday night, Miranda Lambert performed in Minnesota's WE Fest. During her set, she reportedly blurted out her wish amid the painful experience she's going through due to her divorce battle with "The Voice" coach Blake Shelton, TMZ has learned.
"I wish I've been drinking all day. I deserve it," Lambert said in front of the crowd of fans before adding, "I just got divorced."
Concertgoers were pretty receptive toward Lambert's words, such that many offered to take a shot with the 31-year-old country music artist.
It wasn't clear if Lambert was just joking when she said that, for many were touched and felt the pain that she's going through now.
The gig was Miranda's latest performance since the announcement that she and Blake are divorcing after four years of being husband and wife.
Concertgoers noticed that during her performance of "Only You," Lambert was overcome by emotion as she started to tear up, as per Taste Of Country. It can be noted that Shelton also did an emotional performance of the same song this week.
Lambert's joke comes after ex-husband Blake pulled off a drinking joke during his first interview since their confirmed breakup.
Talking to Entertainment Tonight, Shelton, who was visibly sipping from a red plastic cup, said he's having "a little vodka" post-split because he thought it's best if he should just go ahead and get the drinking session started early, according to Daily Mail.
"It's been one of those weeks," Shelton added.
