Google's Nexus 7 is now available for order on various websites worldwide, however only Google currently has its most affordable model available. The model is at its lowest on the Google Play online store, costing customers a low $199 and providing them with 8GB.
The more expensive 16 GB model, which starts at $249, can be purchased through retailers like B&H Photo and Video, Staples, and Best Buy Canada.
The Asus made tablet has Jelly Bean, Google's Android 4.1 operating system, along with a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor.
Shipment of the 16GB model from the Google Play store begins in only a few weeks, while Staples will release the same model starting Thursday.
The Nexus 7 is praised as the "most feature-packed" tablet falling within the $200 price range. The tablets biggest competitors include Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2, Amazon's Kindle Fire, and the Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet.
As the first quad-core 7-inch tablet, the device features a battery life of up to nine hours, a front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and near-field communication. It also has smooth loading of books, videos, music, websites, and apps, and allows users to receive content from other outlets aside for the Google Play store.
The Nexus 7 is comparable to Apple's iPad and is complimented for being so lightweight and easy for users to carry while on-the-go.
