For you fans out there who were a little bit disappointed by the result of the "Fight of the Century," it looks like there might be hope as Bleacher Report reported that Manny Pacquiao wanted another chance to trade blows in 2016 with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Pac-Man lost via unanimous decision in their battle last May, which to many boxing enthusiasts, failed to impress the crowd amid the massive hype surrounding it.
As per Joe Koizumi of Fight News, Manny Pacquiao was said to be unhappy about how the game turned out. He believed his more offensive style secured him the victory and stated that Floyd Mayweather Jr. "was running away all the time."
The prized fighter from the Philippines said, "I'd like to concentrate my efforts on working as a politician this year, and want to fight Mayweather in a rematch. I'll be ready for that mentally and physically next year. I'll show a better performance against him than in the first encounter."
Reports surfaced that Pac-Man's shoulder injury feels much better and already a non-issue.
Still, it's still hanging if he will get another shot at fighting the still unbeatable Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the ring. The American fighter had previously remarked that he would be open for another boxing match, but, after a few days after the bout, he had a change of heart. He stated to Los Angeles Times' Lance Pugmire that the viewpoint was altered because the Filipino fighter was a "coward" and a "sore loser."
Meanwhile, Mayweather Jr. has been in the spotlight exchanging nasty words with UFC superstar Ronda Rousey. According to TMZ, ESPN host Michelle Beadle backed up Ronda Rousey and remarked against the Money, "He doesn't like to be challenged when it comes to matters outside the ring ... y'know, beating women up ... so he has to sort of kill that and go with the money stuff."
If you were wondering what Ronda Rousey uttered against Mayweather Jr., the ESPY's Best Fighter said, "I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once. I'd like to see you pretend to not know who I am now."
Sporting News reported that Rousey's sentiments stemmed from Mayweather's 2014 interview in which he said, "I don't even know who she is," when quizzed for his opinion about the UFC star.
Last Thursday, while endorsing his next fight with Andre Berto, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was asked to comment on her statement and his answer, as per MMAFighting.com was, "I've yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes. When she can do that, then call me."
However, he still stood firm with his 2014 statement and back pedaled a bit when he said, "A while back I didn't know who Ronda Rousey was, so I'm pretty sure she got upset."
"I want to say congratulations to Ronda Rousey and the UFC. You guys have done a tremendous job and I've won probably six or seven ESPYs for Fighter of the Year. And I truly believe she deserves it. Congratulations to Ronda Rousey."
Well, what are your thoughts regarding Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Ronda Rousey?
