Apparently Philips has been known as consumer electronics device manufacturer, which eventually entered into the mobile space with the launch of V808 Android phone back in October 2009. The smartphone was not that successful at that time as per the record and also, since then the company went on a silent mode. However, finally the company looks to be on track again with latest launch of Philips W732 Android smartphone, according to a report by Unwired View.
Unlike its first attempt, this time the phone has been reportedly informed to be coming up with features which set it apart from the competition. What sets it apart from the crowd is the 2400mAh battery that is powering the phone.
As far as other specifications of the handset are concerned, Philips W732 will come with a 4.3 inches LCD IPS panel with a maximum resolution of 480 x 800 pixel resolutions and it would be powered with 1 GHz single core MediaTek MT6575 processor. The device will further support 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA connectivity, with a 5MP camera Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS capabilities. Additionally, W732 would be seen with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre installed and it would also offer some Google free apps installed like Google Maps, Google Drive, Google Navigation and lot more.
As per the report, the device will be first launched in China in green, pink, black, white and blue colors. However, there is no word on pricing so far, but the same model may not see light of day in U.S.
W732 is mainly advertised by the company for its long lasting 2,400 mAh battery. As the battery would power the device with 13 hours of continuous talk time on one full charge and will provide 11 hours during web browsing. These battery specifications are uncommonly seen and only Galaxy Note with 2100 mAh battery and Motorola Droid Razr Maxx are known for longer battery life.
Further, the phone will come measuring the dimensions of 126.37 x 67.44 x 12.3 mm, and would weigh around 166.5 grams.
