Henry Cavill is one of the sexiest actors in Hollywood, but the hunk recently revealed that he hasn't really been popular (at least in a pleasing way) during his childhood days.
The "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" star admitted that he was often picked on for being overweight as a kid while attending St. Michael's Preparatory School in Saint Saviour, Jersey.
"I was teased and it was hard," Cavill told People.
And while legions of women are now throwing their selves at his feet, Cavill confessed to Men's Fitness that he was called "lemon," a guy who gets nowhere with girls back then.
But despite the difficult experience he went through growing up, the "Man from U.N.C.L.E." actor said he doesn't harbor any hard feelings toward the kids who bullied him.
"Even though for some it may be malicious, I think it's just kids being kids, and I don't hold any grudges," he said. "People have had it far worse than me."
Maintaining a positive outlook as he got older, Cavill used his social experiences as a ladder to success. "Someone who is on the outskirts of popularity is someone who gets to look in," the 32-year-old explained. "So I became very much an observer, and that taught me an awful lot about people."
"It helped me read people very well, which has helped me in this industry," he continued. " If I can understand the inner workings of a human being, then I can probably be a better actor."
As preparation for his Superman role in "Man of Steel," Henry endured an intense physical transformation in 2013, including a 1800-calorie diet a day to slim down, according to Daily Mail.
"The production hired a trainer to work with me," the muscular actor said. "I've always been physical but I'm not always in the gym. In pre-production I was knackered all the time."
Nevertheless, Cavill remains grounded despite the attention paid to his chiseled body and good looks.
"You take everything in stride," he said. "Of course it's flattering when people say that, but you've got to keep yourself aware of the fact that it's all perspective. There's one group of people saying that and there's one group of people who may not feel the same way."
Talking about his sex symbol persona, the actor shared a very embarrassing experience while filming a sex scene for "The Tudors," The Huffington Post reported.
"It's only happened to me once, and it was very embarrassing," Henry, who portrayed Charles Brandon in the drama explained. "A girl had to be on top of me, she had spectacular breasts, and I hadn't rearranged my... stuff into a harmless position."
"She's basically rubbing herself all over me and, um, it got a bit hard," he continued."I had to apologize profusely afterward. It's not great when you're in a professional acting environment and somebody gets a boner, is it? No, not acceptable."
