A leaked document currently circulating online has revealed the major features of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which will reportedly be marketed as a beefed up version of the company's Galaxy S6 Edge.
In addition, an accidental post made by Samsung France has unveiled the date when users can start pre-ordering the upcoming handset.
The leaked document, which was obtained by GSM Arena, featured a Samsung device with model number SM-G9280. As previously reported, this is the code for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
Based on the spec sheet, the upcoming device will be powered by the Exynos 7420 chipset. This is the same in-house processor model that Samsung used for its current flagship device, the Galaxy S6.
Moving on, the site also noted that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will come with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. Other sources, however, such as Sam Mobile, reported that the upcoming handset will sport a 5.7-inch screen, similar to the rumored screen size of the Galaxy Note 5.
As for other features of the device, the leaked document listed that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will pack 4GB of RAM and a Mali-T760 graphics processing unit. The handset is also expected to feature a 16-megapixel main camera paired with a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.
Apart from the leak, other major details about the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus were also unveiled online. Recently, Engadget reported that French site Galaxyclub.nl spotted the pre-order details of the unannounced handset on an official site of Samsung France.
According to the sources, pre-orders for the device will begin on Aug. 21 and will end on Sept. 3. Based on this period, Samsung might start shipping out the device by Sept. 4.
It was also revealed that those who pre-order the handset will receive a free Level Bluetooth headset, which is worth $249 if purchased separately.
However, as noted by Engadget, the leaked pre-order dates and bundle deal might only apply for users in France. Other regions might have a different pre-order date and freebies for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
As for its price, the Romanian retailer site Evomag.ro noted that the 32GB version of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will cost around $1,009. The 64GB version, on the other hand, can be purchased for $1,130.
The Plus version of the Galaxy S6 Edge is expected to be unveiled by Samsung on Aug. 13 during the Unpacked event. It will reportedly launch alongside the company's next flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 5.
