KnowYourMobile, a tech news site, claims that it has learned the official release date for the iPhone5.
Despite Apple's rare advance revelation of its products' release, KnowYourMobile announced the phone will launch on August 7.
According to the site's claims, Apple is planning to make a "keynote speech on August 7" to reveal the release of the device. However, no further detail about the release is given. The site's claims come only several days after a Chinese e-commerce site claimed to have started taking preorders for the iPhone5.
Earlier this month, KnowYourMobile reported that the Apple device could have a release date of two months earlier than its September predictions. The sight suggested that the early release could beat out the success of Samsung's Galaxy S3.
If Apple does reveal the release of the iPhone at the start of August, the phone would become available at the end of the month or in early September. Although this would coincide with recent release date predictions, it however would not match up to the contract expiration date of Apple's iPhone 4S users who purchased it upon launch.
The information KnowYourMobile provides is always made out to be exclusive information from an unnamed source that is unrelated to the Apple company.
Tech Radar makes note that KnowYourMobile has in fact provided inaccurate information about iPhone rumors previously. Skeptics do not believe that Apple would even reveal exclusive information about the long awaited device.
It won't be until Apple officially releases information or the device that these rumors will be put to rest. Until then, the wait continues.
