Ariana Grande Loyal Fans Counter Wendy Williams’ Body-Shaming Remarks, Launches #CancelWendyWilliamsShow Twitter Campaign [VIDEO]

Ever wonder why the hashtag "#CancelWendyWilliamsShow" is currently trending on Twitter now? Well, Ariana Grande fans have launched the social media campaign after television presenter Wendy Williams body-shamed their idol.

Ariana Grande has indeed proven that she has a massive social media fan base after they set the Twitterverse on fire with tweets containing the hashtag "#CancelWendyWilliamsShow." According to Fashion & Style, TV host Wendy Williams ridiculed the appearance of the 21-year-old pop superstar on her talk show, "The Wendy Williams Show."

"She's 21. She'll forever look 12," Williams said. "Which, I don't mean that in a good way...You know, it's nice to look younger than you are, but when you look too young, and then you're short — she's only like 4'11. I don't look at her as, like, a woman."

Following Williams' negative remarks on Ariana Grande, her loyal fans, who believed Williams was body-shaming the "Break Free" hitmaker, took to Twitter and made #CancelWendyWilliamsShow trending worldwide.

It seems that Ariana Grande fans are not to be mess around with. And while Williams had a few supporters, her comments appeared to be the perfect time for all her haters and all of Grande's fans to join forces in an attempt to get Williams fired.

Meanwhile, it is the first time that Ariana Grande has found herself in the middle of a hullabaloo. Though she was on the other side of the criticism, she still didn't escape the rude comments. And over the Fourth of July, the "One Last Time" singer made headlines after she was caught licking a doughnut she didn't pay for and then laughed about it, International Business Times noted. She also said she hates America, on her native country's birthday.

Nevertheless, Grande issued a sincere apology for her inappropriate actions.

"Seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly, that you have no idea was taken, is such a rude awakening that you don't know what to do -- I was so disgusted with myself," she said on July 11. "Not here to make any excuses or justify my behavior, because I can't...I'm just here to apologize.

In line with Wendy Williams' alleged body-shaming remarks, the #CancelWendyWilliamsShow Twitter campaign just proved the power of fans on social media. And though the hashtag started as a joke, New York magazine revealed there's a serious aspect to it, which was explained by avid Ariana Grande fan Angie, who sort of started the campaign.

"She pointed out things that Ariana can't change, she mentioned her height which is something nobody can change," Angie said about Williams' remark. "She said that because she was so tiny she didn't look at her as a woman which is a bad thing to say."

"Young girls today already feel pressured to be perfect and pointing out something like your height - that you can't change - is just so wrong," Grande's fan continued. "Bodyshaming is [bad] because it makes young girls feel more uncomfortable about their body, going through changes in your body is already hard & then having someone to tell you that you don't fit in cause you don't have the right kind of body just makes it even harder. Bodyshaming shouldn't exist, everyone should feel beautiful in their own skin."

As the campaign gets intense, Ariana Grande has not yet released a statement about Williams' remarks since she is currently touring in Japan.
