‘Pitch Perfect 3’ SPOILER: Hailee Steinfeld To REPLACE Brittany Snow In The Much-Loved Group The Barden Bellas?

"Pitch Perfect 3" is indeed happening! Since its predecessor received generally positive reviews and has grossed over $284 million in just five days, the highest-grossing musical-comedy film is releasing a sequel and will be released on Jul. 21, 2017.

Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two, is on board in writing "Pitch Perfect 3." While E! News added that Elizabeth Banks, who directed the second film, along with her husband Max Handelman, will once again produce the third installment.

In an interview with Collider in May, actress-director Elizabeth Banks talked about her thoughts about the upcoming "Pitch Perfect 3." She also hinted about planting some points for the upcoming film in "Pitch Perfect 2."

"It would be disingenuous to say that no one's talking about a 'Pitch Perfect 3'; the possibility of it," Banks said. "I had some connection points to the story that really jazzed me up. And I don't know what the story of the third one is yet. So I can't say ... but I'm excited to delve in and figure it out."

As for casting news, Hailee Steinfeld, who played the role of Emily Junk in the second sequel, has confirmed that she will be part of the third installment, Fashion & Style noted.

"I'm in! I can't wait," the actress said during an interview. "It's all happening."

Aside from Steinfeld, Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson have also confirmed their involvement in the upcoming sequel. Brittany Snow's involvement, on the other hand, is uncertain since some reported she has confirmed while others said she has not. Because of this, speculations that Steinfeld could be replacing Snow's role in the film for good emerged. However, this has yet to be confirmed.

Update about the upcoming film first broke out when Los Angeles Times reporter Amy Kaufman announced on social media platform, Twitter, about Wilson's confirmation that she is set to return for the third sequel.

"News: Rebel Wilson just told me there will be a 3rd @PitchPerfect and she recently signed on to be in it," Kaufman tweeted, then added, "(She doesn't know about Kendrick.)"

Before confirming her involvement in the movie, Anna Kendrick told Time magazine that she is waiting to see what happens with the new film before making any plans.

"I'm not one to count my chickens, so I just want to see how this one does and find out if there's an appetite for that before I even think about it. I'll drive myself crazy."

Kendrick also admitted that she was initially hesitant about participating in "Pitch Perfect 2." She was worried that a follow-up to the 2012 box-office hit movie would go the way of other half-assed comedy sequels.
