Terrence Howard, whose net worth is ranging from $5 million to $30 million, is allegedly flat broke because of the financial dilemma he is currently facing due to his dramatic marital problems.
Known for his role as Lucious Lyon in "Empire," Terrence Howard's net worth is reportedly suffering because his ex-wife, Michelle Ghent, is gunning for his paycheck after he signed the divorce settlement in 2012. On Friday, Howard tearfully confessed in court how his ex-wife blackmailed and threatened him to leak damaging information to get him to sign the settlement agreement.
While revealing the details of the threats during a hearing in an effort to overturn the settlement agreement, Howard broke down and told the judge that he signed it under duress. According to ABC News, the 46-year-old Oscar-nominated actor was concerned his ex-wife would leak details about his sex life. There were also audio and video recordings of him, adding that the release of such information in 2012 would have ended his career.
"Michelle was threatening that if I didn't get this mediation, this settlement agreement (signed) she would release to the public that I had herpes and that she would release the videos and audios of me in a very private and intimate place and that I would never be able to work again in this business," he claimed. "I was terrified of her releasing the private tapes."
Ghent, on the other hand, has accused Terrence Howard, who has an estimated net worth of $30 million as The Richest listed, of domestic violence, infidelity and hiding money from her. She also claimed that she's just seeking money she says is owed under their judgment, New York Daily News revealed.
Meanwhile, the ongoing nasty divorce dispute has prompted 20th Century Fox, which produces "Empire," to seek guidance on where to send Terrence Howard's "Empire" earnings, Daily Mail revealed.
As the issues regarding Terrence Howard's split and settlement still rumble on, his net worth is also in danger as Ghent wants him to pay nearly $500,000 in back spousal support he owed her. Moreover, she apparently discovered that he is earning $125,000 per episode as listed by Celebrity Net Worth after filing a subpoena to obtain the actor's "Empire" contract.
So, will Ghent's demand lead Terrence Howard's net worth to drop?
