"Calvino Noir," a film noir stealth game is slated to be released on PlayStation 4 on Aug. 25 in North America, Aug. 26 in Europe and Aug. 27 for PC and iOS, Touch Arcade reported.
The release announcement came with this PlayStation 4 trailer.
In addition, game developers unveiled new information about "Calvino Noir," and that includes the voice cast. They are Wolf Kahler of "Raiders of the Lost Ark," who will play as protagonist Wilt, and Anthony Howell of "Dragon Age: Inquisition," who will play as Arno.
Game Director Dan Walters stated on PS Blog that the characters will have narrative conversations as they move around in the "Calvino Noir" levels. Most of it will happen as the characters sneak into a secret location to secure some documents, PlayStation Lifestyle has learned.
There is also a narrator that describes and explains the sounds, smells and feel of the game.
"The game takes a zoomed out view of the buildings you're in to show off the dramatic architecture we've worked on but to fill in those small details, the charming voice of John Bowe describes the surroundings," developers said, as per the report of TSA.
The developers revealed that they encountered a bit of a challenge on the gameplay, in terms of keeping the balance between telling and showing the characters' relationships. Dr. Dejan Levi reportedly met the challenge in his 12,000 word narrative.
In addition, PlayStation Lifestyle learned that there are three main characters that the player can control, and each of them has special abilities. Players can infiltrate buildings using the following: sneaking, brute force or concealment.
The visuals presented looked grayish, just like in the classic film noir stories. The game was set after the World War I, so gamers will see more of the 1930s architectural structures.
Meanwhile, according to the plot of the new game, multiple characters will conspire with each other to start a revolution.
The new single player game was developed by Calvino Noir Limited, data as per mcro.org.
