Ronda Rousey has always been open about what she feels toward Floyd Mayweather Jr., and it was evident at the ESPYs. Rousey, after that striking speech when she accepted the award, reportedly admitted that she has been planning for a year to call out Mayweather.
Apparently, the five division world champion has a message to the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champ.
"I wish her nothing but the best," Mayweather said, downplaying the feud. "Good luck with everything."
The 38-year-old boxer admitted that he didn't know who Rousey was before and could be the reason why they got upset, SB Nation has learned.
"Even before, I think they got upset because I thought Ronda Rousey ... you know, I didn't know who that was," the boxing champ said.
Rousey said Mayweather got sarcastic with her a year before, so she thought of beating him one day and say something. She told TMZ she would wait another year if she didn't win or even three if she had to.
Meanwhile, her superfight with Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino is currently the talk of the town. However, the discussion is not going anywhere. What's the hold up? — the weight.
Rousey's nutritionist Mike Dolce said that they would take the fight right now at 135 pounds, MMA Junkie reported Friday. The 28-year-old champ could weigh in on the weekend and fight on Saturday night at 135 pounds.
Dolce reiterated that since day one that has been their stance, and they're just waiting for Cyborg.
Rousey hadn't weighed over 151 for the last four months and not above 154 for the past six months, both for on and off seasons. Two weeks before her 34-second fight with Correia, she weighed 148 pounds compared to Cyborg's ripped body weight at 175.
"If they can make it in December, whether it's for the UFC or Invicta, show you can do it, then look healthy doing it and we'll set the fight," Dolce said.
