The official poster for the new movie "Joy," starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, has been released by 20th Century Fox, Movie Web reported.
@JoyTheMovie took to Twitter, Monday and shared the poster, captioning it, "Meet Joy. In theaters December 25. #JoyMovie."
In the poster, Lawrence, who was cast to play Joy Mangano, could be seen wearing aviator glasses while looking up to the sky as the snow falls around her.
The story centers on a woman who faced a lot of betrayal, treachery and loss before becoming the matriarch of a business empire. It tells about how her experiences paved the way in becoming the true boss of her family and business dynasty.
"Joy" reunites Lawrence and Cooper, who first teamed up in the movie "Silver Linings Playbook." Cooper will play the role of the Home Shopping Network executive who will help Lawrence's character into fame, according to Empire.
The second film that Cooper and Lawrence paired up in was "American Hustle." Apparently, the first, second and now the third movie collaboration of the Hollywood A-listers are all under the tutelage of David O. Russell.
Lawrence compared working with Russell on the set with the Olympics of acting.
"Everything moves so fast. It's like watching someone do a giant abstract painting or sculpture and you go, 'Where is this going?'" the 25-year-old actress said.
"And then all of a sudden you're like, 'Oh, it's a Pegasus. It's beautiful!'" she added.
The "Hunger Games" star was working on the final installment of the film, where she co-stars with Liam Hemsworth, when she received a call from Russell asking her if she was willing to play the part of the woman who invented the Miracle Mop, Entertainment Weekly has learned.
"Usually [a film's focus] is about the fight on the way to success and the happy ending," Lawrence said.
"David goes on to tell the struggle that comes after that, along with all the sacrifices that come with finally getting what you want," she continued, explaining how that simple phone call about a mop developed, changed and ended up as a completely different, inspiring story.
"Joy" is slated to be released on Dec. 25.
