For the first time since May 2014, comedian Tracy Morgan will be headlining once again on "Saturday Night Live" after being involved in a car incident that almost took his life.
The show announced last Monday that he will be hosting the October 17 episode, Page Six reported. Morgan has been one of the show's cast member from 1996 to 2003. This will be the second time that he will be hosting "SNL."
Morgan expressed his thoughts about returning on the show through his Twitter account as well. "Stoked to be going home," he wrote.
More than a year ago, Morgan and his friend, James "Jimmy Mack" McNair got into a car crash. According to the site, a Walmart tractor-trailer hit their limo bus. Morgan was severely injured while McNair was not lucky enough and got killed in the incident.
Shortly after the tragic event, his "30 Rock" co-stars Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey wished him well, CNN noted. Tina Fey also gave a short but heartwarming speech during one of the show's episode, "I wish my friend Tracy Morgan was here tonight, and I know he was hoping he'd be well enough to be here too."
Morgan, on the other hand, made his first interview last June after the deadly wreck. He openly said that he could not wait to return, citing his love for comedy. But this time, all he need to do is to get better and 100 percent healed.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the lawsuit against Walmart has been settled. The amount for the settlement has been kept under the wraps.
On the other hand, it is not just Tracy Morgan that is going to make his headline this October. Apparently, Philly revealed that two of the well known celebrities today are hosting "Saturday Night Live" as well.
According to the site, the former Hannah Montana teen bop singer Miley Cyrus is said to be hosting the Oct. 3 episode. Notably, the "Wrecking Ball" singer also hosted the show twice, in 2011 and 2013, making her a "veteran." Meanwhile, the "Trainwreck" comedian Amy Schumer will be hosting the show first time in Oct. 10 episode.
"Saturday Night Live" airs regularly on NBC. Catch its 41st season this October.
