Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie, stars of the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War" movie, shared new important details regarding the story of Marvel's next superhero flick.
The two spoke about the film after its first footage was shown during the D23 event last weekend.
According to the Evans and Mackie, the third "Captain America" film can be described as something similar to a family dispute, Business Standard reported.
The story of the film takes place after the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Due to the effects of the battle between the superhero group and Ultron's army, political leaders decided to establish a set of parameters regarding the actions of the Avengers. This results into an internal conflict within the group.
According to Mackie, who plays Falcon, the rivalry between the superheroes in the upcoming film can be compared to how siblings fight. Evans agreed with his co-star's statement and said that even though the characters are against each others' beliefs, they can't go their separate ways because of their deep bond.
"I feel like families — you have more struggles with the people you love because you care about them," he told Entertainment Weekly. "You can't leave them, you have to make this work. If it's someone you can cut out of your life, no problem."
"You may not get along, but you can't just cut them out of your life," Evans added.
Also, the "Captain America" actor added that although the film will feature conflicting groups, it will be hard for the audience to decide which one is good and which one is bad.
"A majority of the Marvel films, it's clear to know who's right and who's wrong," he said. "This is one of the first movies where it's parallel to the arguments, I think, we have in life where nobody's right, nobody's wrong. It's just a matter of opinion."
As for the film's first footage that was presented during the D23 event, Birthmoviesdeath.com reported that the clip starts with Falcon standing on top of a building over an African market.
He then deploys a drone from his back to scout a suspicious looking van. He then sends the information from the drone to Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and to Captain America. After confirming the van is an enemy vehicle, the three heroes swoop in.
Captain America is then confronted by Crossbones, played by Frank Grillo, and the two engage in a hand-to-hand combat.
The footage ends with Crossbones telling Captain America that Sebastian Stan's Bucky, also known as the Winter Soldier, actually remembered him
"Captain America: Civil War" is set to premiere on May 6, 2016.
