"Criminal Minds" Season 11 will soon hit your screens and fans of the CBS TV series will be seeing the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) interviewing applicants to fill in the spot that was created by Jennifer Love Hewitt's Kate Callahan's exit, as per International Business Times.
Breathe Cast reported that followers of "Criminal Minds" saw Kate vacating her post. Erica Messer, show executive producer has already guaranteed that Jennifer Love Hewitt will not come back for her role as Kate, for she has taken a maternity leave and is expecting a child.
Matthew Gray Gubler, who plays Dr. Spencer Reid, disclosed that there will be another team player who's planning to take a breather, so instead of running after the bad guys, he will be helming the exit episode.
Gubler said in a conversation with Zap2it, "I am [directing]. There's a special episode. I almost don't want to give it away, but I might as well. It's the departure of one of the regular team members."
He also shared a few details about "Criminal Minds" Season 11 and said, "Reid is back at it, catching scumbags and hanging with the team that he loves and helping solve crimes. We've got some new cast additions. Aisha Tyler is on the show. It's been great so far."
"We're definitely off to a good start. We're running fast."
Meanwhile, Design&Trend revealed that actress Paget Brewster has been urged by fans to return to the show and suit up as Agent Emily Prentiss again.
Brewster left "Criminal Minds" in Season 7. At the recent Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, she said she would relish appearing on the CBS show again, as per TV Line.
She said, "I was hoping to jump in and do a couple [of Criminal Minds episodes], because my friend A.J. Cook, who plays JJ, is [finishing maternity leave]."
"But it didn't work out, time-wise," added Brewster.
As per Parade, Paget Brewster left her character Emily Prentiss in "Criminal Minds" for the reason that she "didn't feel challenged anymore." She found another reason to be excited about her work when she joined "Community" on its Season 6 as an administrative consultant hired to aid in shaping up the school, Frankie Dart. The 46-year-old actress said, "Community is a thrilling, hilarious show. This is jumping into the deep end of the pool."
Catch "Criminal Minds" Season 11 on CBS on Sept. 30.
