Fans of "Vampire Diaries" were in frenzy especially Steroline shippers when a Season 7 update revealed that Paul Wesley and Candice Accola's characters Stefan Salvatore and Caroline Forbes' relationship will come in stages.
TV Guide reported that even if Caroline will be trying her best to stay away from Stefan when "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 begins, it will not take long before his good looks, charm and hero hair, will find the road to Caroline's heart as related by executive producer Caroline Dries.
"As much as there's chaos around her, every time she looks at Stefan she gets butterflies," said Dries. "So, it's only a matter of time before it's like... 'You make me happy.' So, we'll see them get together soon."
How soon you ask? Dries answered, "Their relationship is coming in stages."
"Just because two people kiss doesn't mean they're going steady or whatever the term is now. So, they'll have their starts and stops a bit, but we'll explore each of those chapters of the relationship."
Meanwhile, "The Vampire Diaries" may have another potential spinoff aside from "The Originals." Executive producer Julie Plec admitted that she envisioned Season 7 characters being capable of holding their own CW show.
Plec disclosed to Digital Spy, "I look at the casting of the Heretics and I think, 'Oh, they're interesting — could they be their own show?' — so it's one of those [where] we'll see."
According to International Business Times, the Heretics will be the new bad of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7, and by the sound of their name, they seemed to be a rowdy group. The Heretics were Lily Salvatore's family in the 1903 prison world.
Viewers have briefly seen them in Season 6 but pretty sure they will cause trouble for the Salvatore brothers, especially since their mother is the leader of the group.
"[Lily] is using Mystic Falls as a training ground for how to teach her children how to blend," Plec mentioned to Zap2it. "Unfortunately, they don't like being told what to do. They're hungry and they're vampires. They're mischievous and bored and cooped up for quite some time so Mystic Falls is sort of the brunt of the joke of the Heretics. It's a lot of fun and a little twisted."
Unfortunately, that will have to wait since Plec will launch a new drama "Containment" starring Chris Wood.
In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev recently received a Teen Choice Award for TV Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy. She related to fans of the hit CW show that her departure from her role as Elena Gilbert was an essential step in her life, as per Entertainment Weekly.
She said in her speech, "The last few months have been a big change for me."
"Change. It's a scary word, or I used to think that, because it meant new beginnings. New beginnings with a future that was unknown. But change is necessary. Necessary for you to grow up and learn and to better yourself, because everything in life comes to an end."
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will premiere on CW on Oct. 8, Thursday.
