"Dance Moms," the show that's being plagued by issues claiming that it's the most fake reality show on TV, has announced that it is now looking for kids who are looking to be part of Abby Lee Miller's team ahead of the Lifetime show's return for season 6 sometime next year.
On its official Facebook page, "Dance Moms" announced its open call by asking, "Are you destined for stardom?" then adding, "This might be your big break!" The specific details of the talent search are then presented in a poster.
The show's open call is set to happen on Sept. 12, Saturday, at Abby Lee Dance Company LA 11419 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90025. The poster even presents a statement for mothers out there saying, "If you are ready to take your kid's career to the next level & give them the fame they deserve, come meet Abby Lee Miller, the producers of 'Dance Moms' & the casting team."
Specific instructions are then provided at the bottom. Aspirants are asked to register online by sending an email to dancemomsopencall@gmail.com with the subject "Open Call Registration," along with the following specific details:
1. Mom's name, location and contact information
2. Dancer's name, age and recent dance photo
3. A recent dance video link
The show's announcement comes amid the controversial revelation that "Dance Moms" is fake and scripted. Radar Online has learned through a source that the show re-shoots some scenes and even rehearses phony reactions. The insider even claimed, "Abby Lee's girls filmed their dances multiple times, and they'd say 'This one is for extra,' or 'This one is for production.'"
To make things worse, the tipster revealed that when competing, only Abby's girls are allowed to do their routines "multiple times" until they perfect them for the show. The girls also get the short end of the stick since they would end up pretty tired at the end of filming because of all the re-shoots.
The insider's statements came after "Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler spilled the beans on how the fights between the moms in the reality series were scripted and feigned. The 12-year-old dancer and Sia's music video muse told USA Today early this year, "It's hard to do a reality show when there's so much crying and drama. The producers set it up to make us all yell at each other. You know how I said that moms do fight? The moms have a fake fight sometimes. Afterward they just start talking and laugh about it."
"Dance Moms" is set to return next year with season 6.
