"19 Kids and Counting" star Josh Duggar was back in the hot seat when the Ashley Madison hack scandalized the whole world. It was revealed that he had an account with the online cheating site. He had been in the spotlight before because of sexual abuse charges. Josh Duggar, who as a teen, had molested two of his younger sisters, Jessa and Jill, and five other underage girls.
So, people were wondering how his wife Anna Duggar has taken all of this in stride. Was she even aware that her husband, Josh Duggar, was living a double life? One can only question if she truly knew the man she married.
People reported that way back before the world had the slightest knowledge about the sex crime of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's first-born Josh, his skeletons in the closet was already made known to the woman who will end up as his wife, Anna.
A source close to Anna disclosed, "Anna did know."
"Her whole family knew something had happened."
Josh and Anna met in 2006 at a religious convention. Much to the delight of Anna's own traditional parents and the Duggars, the pair began courting. However, before they got married in 2008, the Duggars confessed their shady secret to Anna and her folks.
The source said, "It definitely wasn't portrayed in its entirety. I don't think she understood the entirety of what had happened."
What's more intriguing was that Anna, because of her strict and uptight religious upbringing, she wasn't fully equipped to grasp the severity of what her soon-to-be husband has done, as related by the source.
"She knew the words 'rape' or 'abuse,' but I don't think she really understood what that even meant."
Despite what her family has learned about the man they were handing their daughter to, they still pushed thru with the marriage.
"They still gave their blessing," said the source. "How she was brought up, if your parents gave their blessing then you pretty much marry the guy and that's what God's will is for you and what's best for your life. So much of her belief was based on what her parents told her and not in the actual truth. She looked to her parents and they were okay with it, so she was okay with it."
This time around, with the second sex scandal that Josh Duggar was involved with, Anna still had no choice on the matter as her decisions were controlled by her parents. The source pointed out that when one of Anna's siblings confronted their father about her predicament, he responded that even "King David had an affair."
Meantime, while Josh Duggar checked into rehab, two Duggar family members spoke about the former reality star of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" to Entertainment Tonight.
One of the family member exclaimed, "We are all shocked and broken and furious," and continued, "Josh's integrity is gone."
"It's scary. You never know who can have a double life. You really think you know someone. Josh was caught with his hand in the cookie jar and I hope he gets broken in rehab and gets the help he needs. I hope Anna finds the strength to make some changes."
A second Duggar family member said that Josh has not seen the severity of the situation he has committed until Anna moves out. He also added that Josh Duggar has not come to terms with what true brokenness means.
Jim Bob and Michelle took to their website and posted an update.
They thanked those who poured out love, prayers and care for their family in this most trying times involving Josh. The statement read, "As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son's decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear."
Daily Beast on the other hand, reported, that Josh Duggar was a hypocrite and guised it in an alibi that he has porn addiction, as if the term were provable instead of an idea that should be referred to the scariest among the creepy quotes.
