She wrote, "So excited to finally share my story with you next month. My book FAST GIRL goes on sale 9/14!" alongside a poster of her book, which is subtitled "A Life Spent Running from Madness."
The former University of Wisconsin track racer notably became an icon in the track field for winning seven U.S. national titles. However, her fame was sidetracked when scandalous details about her personal life were published by The Smoking Gun website three years ago, Fox Sports has learned.
In her book, Suzy Favor Hamilton is taking her readers to her bouts of manic depression, which according to her, helped her in excelling her sport. However, amid her struggle with bipolar disorder, she developed hypersexual tendencies due to the medication she was on at the time. Because of her mania, she found herself engaging in prostitution by being a Las Vegas hooker, using the name Kelly as her alter-ego's identity, as per Fox News.
In the wake of her secret's exposure, Hamilton became very depressed that she contemplated on committing suicide. Readers will know specific details about her "reckless suicidal period" when 'Fast Girl" hits bookstores on Sept. 14.
Suzy Favor Hamilton may not have won an Olympic medal, but she clearly made a good mark in the athletic realm when she won seven U.S. national titles. She has also represented the country multiple times, including her run in Barcelona in 1992 and her race in Sydney in 2000.
At the peak of her career, the beautiful runner even scored a TV advertisement for Nike and a stint as a swimsuit calendar model, according to Daily Mail.
