Just barely a month and a week to go and the CW hit TV series "The Originals" Season 3 will come to invade your Thursday nights. By now, avid followers of "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff are salivating for the tiniest bit of details of what will go down in the upcoming season premiere.
International Business Times reported that the Mikaelson brothers will still have a lot of issues to settle — especially with what Klaus has done to Elijah's current lady love, vampire Gia, played by Nishi Munshi, and to the one woman who truly holds his heart, Hayley, portrayed by "Secret Circle" alum Phoebe Tonkin.
For those who were left in the dark, Gia was burned to crisp when she was compelled by Klaus to expose herself into the sun, and Hayley was subjected to return "to the body of a beast" through a spell made by Dahlia.
Although Joseph Morgan's Klaus tried to reason out to his brother about the truth behind his madness — which was saving daughter Hope from being taken by aunt Dahlia and eventually vanquishing the latter permanently, Daniel Gillies' Elijah was not in favor with his method by merely subjecting the two women he loves as figures in the count for "collateral damage."
The vampire who always looked dapper in a suit promised not to stand beside his brother and said, "To break your enemy, you broke your family."
So will the rift between Klaus and Elijah widen when "The Originals" Season 3 returns to CW?
According to creator Julie Plec, when she spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, the rift between the Mikaelson siblings will indeed widen and continue to deteriorate, but a circumstance will arise which will force them to team up and fight side-by-side.
Plec went on to say, "The Original family left last season very distant from each other. I'd say Klaus left last season [having] alienated pretty much everyone he's ever met before. So the minute this season there's a threat, the question is, is the family going to once again put aside their differences to stand together to fight a common enemy? Or did Klaus' actions shatter that bond too much, and will it keep them splintered?"
Meanwhile, Season 3 will usher in the arrival of The Trinity — the first three vampires sired by Klaus, Rebekah and Elijah. These vampires could be referred to as the original vampires' children, as per Entertainment Weekly.
Lucien, played by Andrew Lees, is Klaus' progeny who will be the first to arrive in New Orleans.
Joseph Morgan shared, "We learned how to make vampires when my sire was created. There's definitely a bond there. We owe each other a lot."
He also added, "There's also this element that it's not just the three of them but they're in contact with a lot of the sire line for each of us so it's like, 'Hey, remember us? All those vampires that you turned who you've now abandoned? Well guess what, we're not too happy about that and here's why.'"
In other "The Originals" news, Entertainment Tonight revealed an exclusive look behind the scenes of "The Originals: The Awakening," a four-part series on the web.
The four-part saga centered on the youngest of the Mikaelsons, Kol played by Nathaniel Buzolic who planned to defeat Klaus and his witches by using Danielle Campbell's Davina Claire's ancestor Mary-Alice Claire portrayed by Keri Lynn Pratt.
