Los Angeles Lakers, one of the most successful NBA franchises of all time has probably rounded out their 2015-2016 roster. This comes after Florida Gators Michael Frazier and Texas Longhorns forward Jonathan Holmes were signed yesterday.
However, analysts are concerned about how the Lakers will address their small forward spot dilemma. If fans may remember correctly, only Nick Young and franchise superstar Kobe Bryan are the only deemed viable for the said position, Yibada noted.
As reported by Bleacher Report, the Lakers are seriously considering a reunion with Metta World Peace. World Peace last donned the purple and gold uniform last 2013, where he posted his highest point average with the team.
World Peace is being eyed to contribute his solid defensive effort and veteran presence to arguably, the youngest Laker line-up in recent history. But critics are doubtful with this move as the aging superstar is clearly on the decline.
His last recent NBA game was during the 2013-2014 season, where he played with the New York Knicks and averaged 4.8 points, two rebounds and 13.4 minutes.
According to Lakers Nation, Michael Frazier, one of the new players of the team has signed a 2-year contract. Averaging 12.1 points and 4.1 rebounds during his stint for the Florida Gators, the young guard declared his eligibility for this year's draft; however, he went undrafted.
Robert Upshaw, another potential player eyed by the Lakers, was rumored before to have signed a two-year deal with the team; however, it did not materialize.
But the young big man is keeping his head up and declared in an interview that "I know that I''ll be a Laker," adding, "I've just been working hard, my transition from college into the NBA has been a tough one, but I'm relishing all my hard work. I continue to stay focused and continue to work hard, and I have training camp with the Lakers coming up. I'm just excited, I'm excited to get out there and play basketball, and show them that I'm one of the best basketball players in the country"
