"iZombie" unveiled the first teaser vide after the release of the official key art for its season 2. At the same time, creator Rob Thomas spoiled the upcoming strange allegiance that will be forming between Liv, played by Rose McIver, and Blaine, played by David Anders.
The "iZombie" official key art can be seen in the exclusive report of ComicBook.com, after it was given with the "first-look" privilege by CW. It was reported that the image was the same as the one on the posters handed out at the San Diego Comic Con event last month.
Following that exclusive key art release, "iZombie" gave its fans a first look of what's going to happen when it returns for season 2.
In season one, the zombies are the attackers. However, in season 2, they will be put in a defensive side as creator Rob Thomas revealed that the head of Max Rager, Vaughn Du Clark (Steven Weber), would want to annihilate all the zombies in Seattle.
What does this mean for Liv and Blaine? One word — Allegiance.
"iZombie" season finale might have shown both were fighting to the death. However, the circumstances for Season 2 will lead their relationship to a different direction.
"Blaine and Liv will figure out somewhere reasonably early in Season 2 that someone is eliminating zombies and that will make very strange bedfellows out of the two of them," Thomas told TV Guide.com.
Fans can remember the cliff-hanger finale of the freshmen season, where Major, played by Robert Buckley, became a zombie killer. Then he got severely wounded by those bad zombies.
He was turned into a zombie by Liv to save his life, afterwards he was given a zombie cure — both actions were against his wishes, by the way. Then, she revealed to her best friend, Peyton, played by Aly Michalka, that she too was a zombie.
Finally, Liv was left having to make a crucial decision of turning his brother into a zombie to save his life after the explosion incident or to let fate decide. According to the review of Forbes, everything sounds complicated, but it works.
"iZombie" season 2 premieres Oct. 6 on CW.
