A blood moon is being expected by stargazers before the month of September wraps up, and while many would delight over the rare appearance of this super moon, a Christian minister has claimed that this is not something to be happy about since it is said to be a sign from above that the apocalypse is near.
The Christian minister, who is voicing out this claim, is John Hagee, and for him, the upcoming blood moon should not be considered a special event as it is said to be the final warning from God before the apocalypse comes.
"The coming four blood moons points to a world-shaking event that will happen between April 2014 and October 2015," he told CNN.
Hagee's claim is believed to be the realization of the biblical tetrad of eclipses, wherein four consecutive lunar eclipses are going to mark the coming of the end or the apocalypse. The previous eclipses happened in Apr. 2014, Oct. 2014 and Apr. 2015.
Hagee asserted that the blood moon was the one being referred to in Revelation 6:12 which read: "I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood," as per Christian Today.
In spite of Hagee's statements, however, many are very excited and proudly anticipating the arrival of super moon in the night sky. They will be more interested when they learn that the last time the moon turned bloody was in 1982, according to Quartz.
Meanwhile, there are also others who were not pleased hearing that a super moon is arriving. Neil deGrase Tyson even took to Twitter to voice out what's his problem with something that is not remarkable at all.
The next blood moon expected to happen in 2033. Watch video below from NASA that explains the presence and occurrence of the changes.
