'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Releases NEW Line of Merchandise, What And Where To Buy

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has just released its official toys and merchandise earlier today, which made fans of the beloved sci-fi saga line up at stores.

As reported by KTLA, "Star Wars" fans will have the chance to add something to their collection as Lucasfilm and partner, Disney, released a new line of merchandise for the upcoming movie.

"I'm looking forward to seeing the new action figures," said Steve Sansweet, one of the known "Star Wars" merchandise collectors and the Guinness record-holder with 300,000 items. "I want to see a bearded Luke Skywalker and an old Han Solo."

According to the Guardian, the Friday release, aptly called "Force Fridays," witnessed the release of several tie-in products from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

In part of the huge effort by Disney and their partners, the release of the toys is also reported to target not just original "Star Wars" aficionados, but kids as well. Among the released toys include new Lightsabers, Lego models, action figures and Hot Wheels spaceships.

But the biggest demand is expected for the tennis ball-sized BB-8 rolling robot, which is dubbed as the upcoming film's version of R2-D2. The toy can move independently or be controlled using your smartphone via Bluetooth.

As reported by Toyland Gizmodo, Hasbro is also one of the merchandising partners of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Included in their lineup are the 3.75-inch packs such as the "Build-a-Weapon 3.75-inch Figures" that come with an action figure and various pieces of space weapon.

The Hasbro toy allows you to combine up to three figures that becomes a larger weapon once you've collected all the pieces.

Also among the Hasbro lineup is the "Armor Up 3.75-inch Figures" that includes an action figure and custom-made armor.

The "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" merchandise is available at your local Target, Walmart and Toys "R" Us.
