Steven Tyler, Aerosmith's legendary front man, still has it. After being out of the limelight for quite some time, the iconic rock star made a surprise appearance by singing with a street musician in Moscow.
As reported by Stuff, Tyler was in Russia to perform at Moscow's 868th birthday celebrations. During one his strolls at the Arbat promenade, the 67-year old rocker spotted a street musician named Alexander Anisimov, performing their most known hit, "I Dont Want to Miss a Thing," which prompted Tyler to join for an impromptu jam.
Shocked at first, the street musician was at first hesitant but eventually, he found his groove together with Tyler.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the flamboyant frontman approached Anisimov strumming on his guitar while Tyler belted the hit song which made the onlookers cheer from delight.
Rocking his usual "rock uniform," Tyler was seen sporting jeans and leather jacket. He also encouraged his new jam buddy to join in with the singing, although the aging rocker seems to be improvising some of the lyrics.
After the performance, Steven Tyler and Alexander Anisimov high-fived and hugged before posing for photos in front of their delightful new fans.
"I didn't recognize him at all," Alexander said at the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper. "A foreigner came up to me and started singing along ... 'He sings well,' I thought."
Anisimov then added, "But when he started to sing louder and more confidently, it dawned on me who it was. I was stunned."
According to zap2it, Steven Tyler has been in Moscow with his band, performing for an estimated 100,000 people.
However, he took some personal time and chose to perform for a smaller crowd. Tyler and his band Aerosmith is known for their string of hit songs during the 70s and 80s while they took a short downtime during the early 90s.
But it was in 1998 when Aerosmith performed their signature song "I Dont Want To Miss a Thing" that propelled them again to popularity.
