Zombies and aliens were among the popular characters that filled the streets of Atlanta in celebration of the annual Dragon Con.
Dragon Con, a fantasy and science fiction convention, was hosted by the city of Atlanta over the weekend. People came in droves garbed in their favorite character such as zombies, purple-haired anime heroes, steampunk time travelers and aliens.
Gulf News reported that the convention held every year drew throngs of fans from around the globe to take part in a costume contest under the fantasy and sci-fi categories. Attendants and participants also took part in an educational workshop about costume making and science as well as joining a grand parade throughout downtown Atlanta.
According to the Herald Sun, one of the most anticipated and more popular among the events at the Dragon Con this 2015 was an exclusive party for Dragon Con members held at Atlanta’s Georgia Aquarium, dubbed as "Night at the Georgia Aquarium" at the largest indoor aquarium in the whole Western Hemisphere.
At the filled event, zombies and aliens costumed party goers danced the night away and drank to their stomach’s capacity under the glow of passing sharks and beluga whales on the aquarium’s display.
Dragon Con began on Thursday, Sept. 3, and continued its course throughout the whole weekend. Tens of thousands of fantasy and science fiction enthusiasts and nerd and geek fanatics graced the annual event in Atlanta, as per ParadisePost.com.
