Is Kate Middleton an overspending Duchess? According to the latest report, Queen Elizabeth was furious over the lavish spending habits of the Duchess of Cambridge and her husband Prince William. The new story came as Kate reportedly resumes to her royal duties after four months of maternity leave.
Despite being a commoner, Kate Middleton is allegedly living like a queen ever since she married Prince William in 2011. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Queen Elizabeth finds the Duchess' spending habits as "vulgar" and "frivolous" and the British monarch is determined to stop it. Unfortunately, it is not only Kate who's spending too much because Prince William is also a wasteful spender.
Since their wedding, Prince William and Kate Middleton's alleged overspending have already made headlines several times. And since the monarchy depends on taxpayer money to fund their lavish lifestyles, Queen Elizabeth was displeased with their spending habits.
In spite of being known as down-to-earth royals, Kate Middleton and Prince William have blown over $6 million redoing various homes and apartments. While it's technically true that the Duchess of Cambridge was a commoner, she's a child of great wealth herself. Her parents are quite wealthy and she grew up with a very posh lifestyle and private school education.
Last year alone, the royal couple spent $4.6 million for their expenses, which include the clothing cost for Prince William, Kate Middleton and son Prince George and nannies, staff, and travel costs. The 33-year-old Duke of Cambridge, however, donated his $62,000 East Anglian Air Ambulance pilot salary to charity, International Business Times reported.
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton is finally back in the spotlight as she resumes her royal duties. Daily Mail has learned that the 33-year-old Duchess is now keen on starting limited public engagements since her months-long absence after giving birth to Princess Charlotte in May.
Kate Middleton will kick off her royal duties with a charity visit to the Anna Freud Centre in London next week. As per Hello! Magazine, the Duchess will also join her husband Prince William and brother-in-law Prince Harry at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup at Twickenham on Sept. 18. Additionally, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will also start several joint engagements together, including visits to Dundee and North Wales in late October and late November respectively.
