“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 12 is just around the corner. The latest scoop on ABC’s medical drama — Ellen Pompeo voiced out her feelings over fans’ reaction of McDreamy’s exit on Shonda Rhimes’ show.
Patrick Dempsey’s character Dr. Derek Shepherd mostly recognized as McDreamy, was written off in Season 5 and until now, most of “Grey’s Anatomy” fans and MerDer shippers can’t seem to move on over the reality that he would never be coming back. Because of this, Shonda Rhimes and Ellen Pompeo have both expressed to fans to get over it already.
Move on, people!
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show is about Meredith Grey reason why it's called "Grey's Anatomy." Before Sandra Oh's Cristina Yang left she gave out a meaningful message to Meredith that she's "the sun" and not Derek. It was basically an advice from her "person" that whatever happens in their relationship she would continue on, of course that was directed to the struggle that they had when Derek chose to accept the job from Washington.
During her sat down interview for the epic EW photoshoot, Ellen Pompeo confessed that she was hurt about fans' reaction to McDreamy leaving the show. It's supposed to be Meredith Grey's story so what's all the fuss about? She said, "This is really difficult for my ego," looked over at Kerry Washington and Viola Davis and continued, "It's like, Annalise Keating carries the show, Olivia Pope carries the show." She was referring to Washington's "Scandal" and Davis' "How To Get Away With Murder."
The other half of MerDer posed the question why can't Meredith lead the show just like the women she mentioned. "Why can't I be on that poster by myself?" ended Ellen Pompeo.
Sure enough, she got what she asked for. US Weekly reported that Ellen Pompeo may get the ego boost that she needed with her sizzling EW cover. Who can resist an Ellen Pompeo with nothing but a doctor's lab coat, stethoscope and red stilettos?
Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly shared some photos of the latest season's new set. "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 will have a new cadaver laboratory that is up to date with technology. The McMansion has been demolished during the break and in its place will be the new home for the fresh anatomy class of Grey Sloan memorial.
