“Supernatural” Season 11 debuted its newest trailer to give its fandom another reason to jump in anticipation for the upcoming premiere of The CW show. The short clip shows Sam and Dean turning to God as Darkness looms.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed “Supernatural” Season 11 will find the brothers, Sam and Dean, facing the baddest evil yet — The Darkness. It was said that the villain they will battle with predates the biblical era. Well, with an enemy of that caliber, they would indeed need all the help that they can get.
The trailer of “Supernatural” Season 11 showed Sam all bloody and beaten up attempting to call out to God for support and assistance in fighting The Darkness. He could also be heard taking the blame for the unfolding of the events.
Executive producer Jeremy Carver has said that this season would have an “epic feel with a big bad.” The arrival of The Darkness will also bring unity to the Winchester brothers as they combine forces to battle their latest adversary.
Both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki who plays Dean and Sam respectively were actually thrilled about the idea of seeing their characters on the same page and not bickering and fighting like what unfolded in the past seasons.
Padalecki said, "It's been awhile since we've seen Sam and Dean in a good place. I think the fans are really going to love that."
Ackles agreed to Padalecki’s statement and added, "It's fun for us to get to play the lighter side of their brotherly relationship after playing it so dark for a while."
In a previous Entertainment Weekly conversation, Padalecki has mentioned that The Darkness would open the possibility of God and/or Lucifer to make an appearance. He also added that “Supernatural” Season 11 would have its own interpretation of the writings and scriptures that was not included in the Bible. He also quipped, “Since we know God’s a scribe, we may have to invite him along for the ride.”
According to TV Line, the trailer for “Supernatural” Season 11 looked liked the show’s darkest season ever. The only light moment that came with the minute long clip was that of Dean giving a snarky comment at the end of the teaser. Wonder what it is? Watch the video below.
Don’t forget to catch “Supernatural” Season 11 when it premieres on Oct. 7, Wednesday on CW.
