"Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 1" may still be far but fans are already speculating the fate of the superheroes.
It's here where almost 11 years of story build-up that started with 2008's "Iron Man," will come to an explosive conclusion.
As reported by Movie Web, Marvel announced during a press event back in October that the "Avengers: Infinity War" will be divided on two parts and will feature the mad titan Thanos.
A clear photo of Thanos will be featured in the upcoming "Avengers: Age of Ultron" sequel that shows the mad titan wearing the Infinity Gauntlet.
According to reports by the A.V Club, the photo will be likely included in the "Infinity Six" featurette that explains the Infinity Stones.
The so-called Infinity Stones are powerful artifacts on the Marvel Universe among them are the following:
- The Tesseract (the blue Space Stone) allows for interdimensional space travel. It popped up in "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "The Avengers," where Loki used it as part of his master plan. It's currently stored in Odin's treasure room on Asgard.
- The Aether (the red Reality Stone) is introduced in "Thor: The Dark World" and is actually not a stone but a magic liquid. Some Asgardian warriors deliver it to the Collector (Benicio del Toro) for safekeeping in a post-credits scene.
- The Orb (the purple Power Stone) from "Guardians of the Galaxy" is the one Thanos comes closest to getting his hands on until the film's main villain, Ronan (Lee Pace), decided to use it himself. Currently in the possession of the Nova Corps.
- Loki's scepter (the yellow Mind Stone) It was a gift from Loki to Thanos (given offscreen before the movie begins), who should perhaps be more careful about lending out his prized possessions. In "Age Of Ultron" it gets fused into Vision (Paul Bettany), who is protecting it for now.
The remaining two Infinity Stones, however, are likely to appear on Marvel's Phase Three.
But according to reports by Movie Pilot, there are rumors that "Avengers 3: Infinity War Part 1" will feature the deaths of core Avengers members Captain America, Iron Man and Thor.
The deaths of these three superheroes results into speculation that a new hero, in the guise of Captain Marvel, will be the lead for "Infinity War Part 2"
However, Marvel has yet to introduce a "Captain Marvel" movie so everything is still not set in stone.
Catch "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" on May 2018.
