Los Angeles Lakers are one of the biggest and most successful NBA franchises ever that they attract the best players all around the league.
Fresh from drafting star rookie D'Angelo Russel and last year's picks, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson, the Lakers are looking to add more fire power.
With the aging franchise player Kobe Bryant, many fans are analysts are looking for someone to inherent the torch from the Black Mamba.
One potential star is Sacramento Kings big man Demarcus Cousins, according to the Digital Journal. Rumors have surfaced again about the potential trade that will send the moody Kings' center to Hollywood.
With the Lakers now boasting a handful of young talents, the trade rumors are going stronger than ever — add to the fact that Kings Coach George Karl has expressed his dislike for Cousins.
Demarcus Cousins is arguably the best center in the league right now and with Lakers' history of grooming big men to champions, Cousins may very well consider a change of team.
According to the Inquistr, the Los Angeles Lakers currently have 17 players under contract but would likely add one more player before the training camp starts.
One of the players being considered is their former player Metta World Peace. World Peace first came to the Lakers as Ron Artest and has helped them win the 2010 NBA championship against their bitter rivals, the Boston Celtics.
World Peace was reported to be working out at the Lakers practice facility that fuels the rumors of the veteran signing a one-year deal.
As reported by Lakers Nation, the team's general manager Mitch Kupchak however gave a vague answer regarding the rumored signing.
Kupchak stated "Nothing's imminent in terms of a signing anytime soon, but it's hard not to watch a guy when he's in your gym every day going up and down the court, working with young guys, playing hard. Part of me says he can still play, so I don't know where we're going to end up on it. But that's kind of where it is."
Will the World Peace comeback ever happen? Stay tuned for more updates.
