'The Flash' Season 2: 5 EXPLOSIVE Things To Watch Out For When CW's Hero Series Returns This Fall

"The Flash" Season 2 is about to head its way to the fall TV roster this October. Ahead of its premiere, here are five explosive things that you should know and watch out for.

1. A Time Jump

Yes! "The Flash" Season 2 will not pick up where the show's freshman run left off in its action-packed finale. Instead, fans will see how the characters dealt with the changes six months has brought to Central City. However, Actress Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlyn Snow, has revealed that the premiere episode will give fans insights on what took place before the time jump. "We will deal with the singularity and everything that's going on," she was quoted as saying by Inquisitr.

Though it's clear now that viewers will learn about the events that took place after the finale, whether it will be through a dialogue or a flashback remains to be unconfirmed.

2. Earth-2

It has long been confirmed that a number of speedsters will be dashing through the streets of Central City when "The Flash" Season 2 airs this fall. Alongside the arrival of Teddy Sears' Jay Garrick however, is the confirmation that there is an Earth-2 and that there are more worlds and timelines out there that remain to be undiscovered by Barry and the S.T.A.R. Labs team. Keiynan Lonsdale's Wally West is also arriving, but the premiere and the first couple of episodes of "The Flash" Season 2 are expected to focus on the news that Jay Garrick will bring.

Being the original speedster or the Golden Age Flash that he is, exec Andrew Kreisberg said that "Jay is a little bit more world-weary and he's seen a lot. He's been The Flash for a while, so he's a little further along in his career." Kreisberg also told Entertainment Weekly that because of this, Jay would think that Grant Gustin's Barry Allen is a little too naive on how the world works.

3. The Transformation of Killer Frost

Though Panabaker has admitted that she is still oblivious on when her character Caitlin Snow will transform to Killer Frost, fans are anticipating this to happen in the upcoming season. "No one is more excited for Caitlin to become Killer Frost than I am. Unfortunately I don't know when that will happen on the show. I want it to happen very, very badly. Unfortunately I don't know that it's happening yet," Panabaker was quoted as saying at DragonCon by Comicbook.

Nevertheless, Kriesberg has already revealed ahead of the show's premiere that Caitlin's husband Ronnie Raymond is going to die. Fashion&Style noted that Ronnie will be put in a very difficult situation wherein he is forced to sacrifice his life for the love of his life and the lives of his friends. With this is the growing number of speculations that Caitlin's allterego would be awakened, and Killer Frost would then be introduced into the metahuman mix.

4. Dr. Well's Return

Whether fans like it or not, Tom Cavanagh's Dr. Wells is still alive and he is set to return for more action this fall season when "The Flash" Season 2 airs. Producers have already confirmed Dr. Wells' return on the series, but details about this villainous character were very scarce at first until executive producer Gabrielle Stanton dropped clues on what to expect from Cavanagh in the all-new season.

"Harrison Wells will be back, but he's going to be a very different Harrison Wells than we've seen before," Stanton revealed as quoted by MoviePilot. "We've got other worlds. We've got other timelines. All I'm going to say us he's from one of those places."

5. Patty Spivot's Introduction

"The Messengers" alum Shantel VanSanten has been cast to play another Central City CSI named Patty Spivot. Patty is described as someone who is very obsessed with metahumans. She will be Det. Joe West's partner when the show returns to the small screen, and Kreisberg has confirmed that she will be out to complicate Barry Allen's love life.

According to DenofGeek, fans may have already seen a poster where Shantel's character is featured. The poster we are referring about is the one that pays homage to The Flash #123 cover, the comic book installment that features the DC Multiverse for the first time. While the original comic book cover shows two speedsters running to save a man, "The Flash" Season 2's poster has a woman calling out to the Flash to save her. The female in the poster is rumored to be Patty.

Don't miss "The Flash" Season 2 when it returns to the fall TV lineup this Oct. 6 on The CW.
