Stephen Curry Prepares For NBA's New Season, To Work With Former Two-Time MVP & Play Against His Brother Seth?

Stephen Curry and his team, the Golden State Warriors, continue to prepare for the upcoming NBA season. Part of that preparation is hiring the two-time MVP Steve Nash, who announced his retirement, to be the team's consultant.

What is he exactly going to do? His job description stated part-time player development consultant, ESPN learned.

The deal will basically make Nash an occasional tutor, particularly to the Golden State guards, according to a source. It is expected that he and Curry will be working together.

Nash reportedly did a similar work with Lakers' Jordan Clarkson as well as Jeremy Lin, Dante Exum, Kemba Walker and C.J. McCollum over the summer.

He didn't have any intentions of going into coaching after he made an announcement about his retirement. But according to the reports, Steve Kerr, Rick Welts and Bruce Fraser, all whom worked closely with him while he was with the Phoenix Suns, convinced him to consider this offer.

Now, the former Mavericks player will be spending a couple of days per month with the Golden State Warriors to work on the skills of individual players.

Curry is undeniably skillful, and a great player, but the former Suns player could possibly elevate Curry's game as a playmaker, according to Business Insider. Many NBA fans are excited to see what other things Nash can unlock from Curry and his teammates.

As the reigning NBA MVP prepares for the upcoming tight basketball season, reports surfaced that he and his brother, Seth, could have been teammates.

Sacramento Kings offered a two-year contract to the younger Curry. He will be having a player option on 2016-2017 season, a source said as per Yahoo Sports' report in July.

However, before he signed the contract, Bleacher Report found out — via Sports Illustrated's Lee Jenkins — that he had offers from Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Pelicans.

So why did he opt for a different team?

"I didn't want to go to Golden State," the 24-year-old player said. "I didn't want to go back in Steph's shadow."
